Feeding leopard geckos with mealworms
Mealworms in a dish – simple and low-stress
Why mealworms?
On virtually every farm – we source around 80 % of our animals from Tramper Farm in the USA – leopard geckos are fed exclusively on appropriately sized mealworms. Small worms for small geckos.
It really is this simple
- Put a shallow dish in the vivarium.
- Add mealworms and a cuttlefish bone, and leave both in place.
- Do not forget fresh water.
That leaves you with feeding duties only once or twice a week.
Many leopard geckos will not take crickets at all, and mainly find them stressful – which in turn can lead to digestive problems.
Do not keep too many animals together: 3 to 5 is the maximum. Every additional animal adds stress.
