The right vivarium
The legally required minimum size is based on the animal's body length (a factor of 0.7 x 0.5 x 0.5 times body length for length x width x height). With large hides, sturdy climbing structures, a spacious water bowl for bathing, a thermostat and hygrometer, plus misting or a fogger.

- Temperature zones between 28 °C and 35 °C
- Humidity 60–80 %
Feeding
In captivity, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits as frozen-thawed food. Intervals depend on age and size. Overfeeding leads to obesity.
Temperament & handling
Intelligent and inquisitive, active around dusk and at night. Non-venomous, killing prey by constriction – more demanding and less predictable than a Burmese python.
